We’re over halfway through rehearsals for Narthana 2022 and it’s been amazing to see the dancers grow and to see routines slowly come together. There are a variety of dance styles in this show such as Kandyan, Folk, Lyrical and many more.

Rehearsals have been full of dance, laughter and plenty of snacks :p
It has been a great way of bonding with fellow dancers, whether it’s from everyone laughing about how out of breath they are or talking about their favourite Sri Lankan food!
Even hearing Dilini’s constant shouts of “More Mandiya!” is somewhat refreshing to hear😂 Speaking of Dilini, here’s a collection of her Core Kandyan Memories.

We kickstarted Narthana 2022 rehearsals in April!
There were so many new faces and it has been great getting to know everyone while also catching up with those we hadn’t seen in ages.
Rehearsals were conducted online on Zoom and in person at UCL IOE. The choreography was taught online and during the in person rehearsals, we all helped each other out with the routines and focused more on the performance side of dance.
